Kia Ora Kākano Whānau,

Happy Mother’s Day to all our mums and Nanas today! I hope you are having an amazing day and the kids are spoiling you!

I also hope you enjoyed your special present the children made, they really enjoyed making these for you and I heard some wonderful stories about why the children love you.

We had such an action packed week just gone, we celebrated all of our Teachers' Birthdays and Penelopes with bouncy castles, candy floss and cake!

We welcomed 6 new students to our class and it was like they had been at school for some time, they all settled into school routines and joined in playing with others. I loved how caring the older children were by taking care of our new friends. This week we welcome Mack and Charlotte to the Kakano 6 whanau.

We also celebrated World Prayer Day on Thursday. Thank you to all the children for coming dressed up in their national costume. It was so cool to see all the different nationalities and hear all the different languages at our liturgy. Our school is so lucky to have such a culturally diverse school!

Last week our R.E (Religious Education) Books home went home after three-way conferences. Please have a look through this with your children and fill in the whānau feedback form. Thank you to those who have returned the books, if you still have these please can we have these back this week so we can continue putting our learning in.

Morning Jobs:

Please remember parents it is important for the children to carry their own school bags, mark their roll and put their Bookbag in the right box on their own. We have loved watching the tamariki come into class in the morning all by themselves and getting on with their jobs. We are so proud of them for being able to manage themselves and get the jobs they need to get done, done.

This is what this week looks like at a glance…
