Term 2 Week 1

Welcome back. We all hope you had a lovely break and that the children are coming back refreshed.  We have lots of information today so please make sure you read to the end. This week we welcome Maia, Samuel, Anton, Che’, Ethan, Amaya, Alex, Micah and Maria to our Kakano whanau. Morning Jobs: Please remember parents it is important for the children to carry their own school bags, mark their roll and put their Bookbag in the right box on their own.  It is great to see our tamariki becoming more independent each day.  Uniform: This term we change to the winter school uniform, Please make sure everything is named. Also please provide shoes that the children can independently put on, if you have purchased shoes with laces please teach them how to tie these at home.  Boys - Grey woollen shorts, royal blue skivvy and grey knee high socks with black leather school shoes. Week 2

  Week 2 Kia ora Whānau We hope you have enjoyed the long weekend! Thank you for continuing to follow the Covid Alert Level 2 procedures. Last week’s blog post has a brief outline to remind you of what level 2 looks like for our Kākano students. Raffles Thank you for your support with the selling of our PTA’s Raffle Books. The books must be returned tomorrow Tuesday sold or unsold. Swimming The children had lots of fun in the pool last week. Thank you for packing their togs each day. We will swim again next week. It is very important to have everything named, togs, towel, googles and all pieces of the children's school uniform. FYI Early Finish Tues 2nd November Tuesday 2nd November at 2.30pm, our staff, along with teachers from St Michael’s Rotorua, St Mary’s Putararu and Bishop Edward Gaines in Tokoroa are involved in Titiro Whakamuri kia haere whakamua Professional Development. WEEK 5 TERM 4 2021

Welcome to Week 5!  No swimming this week for Kakano: The middle and senior students have extra swimming lessons again this week with an outside provider so unfortunately there is no swimming for KAKANO again this week.  Gym competition:  Well done to all KAKANO junior students who took part in the MIGS Gym competition. They all did extremely well and represented our school with respect and pride.  Thanks, Brigitte Holmes for taking them to the comp along with parents and thanks to Kelley Kemp for helping Brigitte with the coaching of the juniors during the year.   Junior Baptism course  Next Saturday, 22 of our students will be making their first Reconciliation. Next week will be the final week that our twenty junior students finish their Baptism Course. Please keep them in your prayers.
