Week 2 Kia ora Whānau We hope you have enjoyed the long weekend! Thank you for continuing to follow the Covid Alert Level 2 procedures. Last week’s blog post has a brief outline to remind you of what level 2 looks like for our Kākano students. Raffles Thank you for your support with the selling of our PTA’s Raffle Books. The books must be returned tomorrow Tuesday sold or unsold. Swimming The children had lots of fun in the pool last week. Thank you for packing their togs each day. We will swim again next week. It is very important to have everything named, togs, towel, googles and all pieces of the children's school uniform. FYI Early Finish Tues 2nd November Tuesday 2nd November at 2.30pm, our staff, along with teachers from St Michael’s Rotorua, St Mary’s Putararu and Bishop Edward Gaines in Tokoroa are involved in Titiro Whakamuri kia haere whakamua Professional Development. Kia Ora Kākano Whānau, We have made it to the last week of term!! Last year, term one wasn’t so successful, as we had gone into lockdown after only 8 weeks. It has been a great term. All of the classes have settled well with their new teachers and we, the teachers, have loved getting to know all of the children and families. Thank you for your support during this term with various school and classroom events. Take a look at some of the photos from last week: We were lucky to Senior Constable Regan in to talk to the children about safety in the car. He talked about having the correct car seats in for the children as well as the importance of ALWAYS wearing your seatbelt. It is always great to have these community leaders come in and see the children for a casual chat so that the children know that these people are out there to help us. Kia Ora e te Whanau, We hope you have had an awesome weekend enjoying the sunshine and possibly looking out for our Matariki Stars in the early hours of the morning. We are so close to the end of term and only have 4 more school days left! How did time fly so quickly. This week children need to be at school from Monday – Thursday as Friday is a Teachers Only Day. We would like to congratulate all the children in Kākano 4, 5, 6, and 7 for the amazing assemblies they have prepared for the school in the last 3 weeks. You were all so brave and confident and we are so proud of you.
