Week 1 mid week blog

 What a lovely start to the term we have had.  The children have all settled back in well.

Thank you for having all the children in summer uniform.  They must have a school hat every day. Otherwise, they can not play outside as the school rule is NO Hat, NO Play.

In level 2, we have no drinking fountains available, so it is also essential the have a water bottle every day.

They have also loved their learning, and everyone is very focused.  Please make sure you read every night at home, which helps your child progress in their reading.  You can also work on their alphabet knowledge (both the letter name and sound it makes).  


The children have loved being in the pool. 








We have been busy creating lots of art for the classroom.  We had read a story about Tiddler the fish and then made art for the class.
We also wrote stories about how we can show the school values.  We matched these with bee pictures.



If anyone has any spare plastic bags at home, we will take them off your hands as we are in need of them.

Week 11

  Kia Ora Kākano Whānau,  We have made it to the last week of term!! Last year, term one wasn’t so successful, as we had gone into lockdown after only 8 weeks. It has been a great term. All of the classes have settled well with their new teachers and we, the teachers, have loved getting to know all of the children and families. Thank you for your support during this term with various school and classroom events. Take a look at some of the photos from last week: We were lucky to Senior Constable Regan in to talk to the children about safety in the car. He talked about having the correct car seats in for the children as well as the importance of ALWAYS wearing your seatbelt. It is always great to have these community leaders come in and see the children for a casual chat so that the children know that these people are out there to help us. Week 10

  Kia Ora e te Whanau,   We hope you have had an awesome weekend enjoying the sunshine and possibly looking out for our Matariki Stars in the early hours of the morning.   We are so close to the end of term and only have 4 more school days left! How did time fly so quickly. This week children need to be at school from Monday – Thursday as Friday is a Teachers Only Day. Please contact Mary-Ann Roling from Glenholme Afterschool on 347 0709 or 0211 215599 if you need childcare on this day.  We would like to congratulate all the children in Kākano 4, 5, 6, and 7 for the amazing assemblies they have prepared for the school in the last 3 weeks.
